Gender is constructed socially. There are
     socially constructed roles and
     responsibilities assigned to men and
     women by society. These roles are learned;
     they vary between cultures and they
     change over time.

Sex are biological attributes of men and
     women; these attributes are universal
     and cannot be changed.
