Step 1. Recognition of woman as “farmers”

Rural women form the most productive workforce in the economy in the state, cultivator
     ag-labour (34.8%)

Overall rural female workforce participation rate in HP is 47.4% (as per Census 2011)

In Himachal Pradesh, 89.8% of female and 55.5% of male in rural areas are self-employed
     compared to India’s value of 57.7% of females and 57.8% of males

Despite of critical role played by women in agriculture and allied activities, the agricultural
     support mechanism in HP still has some way to go to make the system more inclusive
