IPCC and its role

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 1988 to provide comprehensive and neutral scientific information on human-induced climate change, including natural, political, economic impacts and risks, and possible response options.
